R. Tomasi is an Italian/Irish artist living in Ely, Cambridgeshire. Since 2021 he has given his full attention to design and creating. His work mainly centres around numbers, geometry, ratios and proportions. He has been described as ‘futurist’, perhaps due to having studied engineering in Italy.

He approaches each piece as a problem that needs to be solved. Once decided on the theme, work starts with a pencil and paper, where sketches are developed, measured and balanced. The completed sketch is then digitalized and after that goes to the last part of the process: colour palette. In this method, the final piece is presented as a fine-art giclée print on cotton rag. From the end of 2023, Rick has started to screenprint, as many of his works are suited to this medium.

He has been selected as a Guest Artist 2024 with Artworks East, a professional group of contemporary East Anglian artists, with its annual exhibition taking place in September in Bury St. Edmunds. This year will also include a 2-month showing at Stapleford Granary (Dec 2024/Jan 2025), and Santiago Arts in Diss (Summer 2024).
